Holiday Wrap-Up

Christmas Eve 2008

Happy New Year from Sophia, Julie and Ryan! (Mocha not pictured)

We hope everyone had a relaxing and refreshing holiday break. Sophia had a great Christmas, even though Papi threatened to take away her presents when she wasn't taking very good naps.

Coal for Christmas

The past two weeks have flown by so quickly. We were blessed to spend lots of time in Southern Minnesota visiting family and playing with our little bundle of joy known as Sophia.

This Christmas was so very different from last year. Sophia was much more into all of the festivities. The food, the people, and especially unwrapping presents. She enjoyed the gift bags the most because she could grab the bottom of the bag and shake the contents out.

Christmas at the Proehl's

Sophia may be the youngest of her cousins, but she is quite the little trooper and can definitely hold her own. Both Julie and I have fairly large families and it is such a joy to see Sophia engage and play with her "bigger" cousins. She loves to watch the bigger kids and is always itching to join in the fun. Especially a good game of chase.

The weather was pretty amazing and we got some quality time playing outside in the snow. Sophia had a tough time making snow angels since she can't really move her arms or legs in her snowsuit so she may have to enlist some help from semi-professional snow angel maker, Uncle Tyler.

Sophia also experienced sledding for the first time in her awesome sled that Santa brought for her.

Sledding with Mami is definitely a bit safer than with Papi. Let's just say that the Sonnek's have a tradition of "Extreme Sledding". This year was definitely tamer than years of old when we had the 3-wheeler tearing up the yard. Check out my insane sledding run or ask about the infamous "intertube incident" if you want more details.

We hope everyone has a great start to the new year. Sophia learned one other very important lesson this Christmas that she wanted to share with everyone...

Happy New Year!
