Sunday was Julie's birthday and it was a great opportunity to make a quick family trip up to Santa's Workshop (otherwise known as Macy's Christmas exhibit).
Sophia was a little suspicious of the animatronic elves at first, but once she saw animals dancing and decorating the Christmas tree, she really got into it. She has recently become very aware of animals and has bonded quite a bit with her stuffed animal horse at home.

It was such a delight to watch Sophia's eyes light up as she watched the characters move around. She would point at the elves and look back at us and shout, "Mama! Papa!".

I gained a new appreciation for the imagination of a child as these simple moving dolls came alive to her. How amazing it must be to experience for the first time all of the things that we take for granted. I pray that Sophia will always keep her heart of joy and wonder for all things new.

As a little Christmas present, Sophia wanted to sing her current favorite song. Unfortunately, she doesn't really like the Christmas carols we sing around the house and she'd much rather sing about farm animals. She's been practicing quite a bit around the house, and makes Mami sing with her in the car at all times.
