As we were getting our daughter ready for bed tonight, a flood of emotions took me back to the night we received our referral for Sophia. Exactly one year ago, we stood in her then nearly empty room and gazed at her sweet face for the first time.







With one little photograph, pink balloons, hugs from the Felts, and a phone call from Mercedes, our whole world changed. On that night, we suddenly became the forever parents of one tiny, beautiful baby girl. Sophia was just ten weeks old in that first picture. Now she is fourteen months old and practically running around the house. She is the most expressive, joyful, and spirited little girl we know.
