What kind of parents would take their infants out on a Friday night to a place called Bogota Beer Company? Certainly not responsible ones...
Ryan and I see ourselves as pretty responsible parents, naive at times, but responsible. And yet, where do you think we tried to take our baby tonight? You guessed it...Bogota Beer Company.
In an attempt to give Dana and Tomas Ochocki a much deserved farewell party, and to fulfill Ryan's month long dream, four families (babies included) set off for a night on the town.
When we arrived to Bogota Beer Company around 7 pm, we all suddenly realized how completely ill thought out our evening plans were. Down here the days seem to run together, so none of us gave any thought to the fact that it was a Friday night. Whenever we had walked past the Beer Company, it had been the middle of the day (seeing as how we don't often head out on the town on Friday nights when our little ones are normally fast asleep). The place looked like it had good food and the mellow atmosphere seemed perfect. We soon discovered just how many people agreed with us (well maybe not about the mellow atmosphere). The place was packed with a 20 foot line of people waiting outside to get in. All of the adults in the group looked at each other and said, "Um... I think maybe we should try somewhere else." Do you think!?
We walked down the street a bit to Crepes and Waffles, another busy restaurant. The difference was, this was a kid friendly restaurant without smoking and loud music. Plus, it has the best ice cream ever! We all agreed this was a much better choice. The babies did great, and we all enjoyed our meals. Of course, the four adorable babies enjoyed a lot of attention.
After finishing at Crepes and Waffles, we were ready to head home and put the babies to bed....but, not without first stopping back at Bogota Beer Company to buy paraphernalia. Don't worry, the babies didn't actually go into the bar. They stayed outside with two of us mothers and witnessed a small fender bender on the street in front of us. This is Colombia, so of course there was a plethora of honking! Amazingly enough, our little Sophia slept right through it, just as she had the whole evening. The other babies, Tomas and Alejandro, continued sleeping as well. Ava was already safely on her way home.
If you ask the babies, they'll tell you they had a fabulous night out. They were so excited beforehand, that they got all spiffed up and posed for a photo shoot. Click on this link to see their best poses. You can't tell us this isn't the cutest thing you've ever seen.

Gone are your days of fine dining, but hey Happy Meals aren't so bad!
Dennis and I spent a wonderful evening at the Bogota Beer Company with Cesar and Elena - can't imagine what you found inappropriate for infants. What it the 3 foot high beer dispensers in the middle of half the tables? Crepes and Waffles seems far more family friendly!
Can't wait to meet Sophia on Tuesday!
