Meet our beautiful little girl!! Sophia Maria Sonnek was born on August 30th, 2007. She is just 2 1/2 months old and such a little peanut with the cutest cheeks.

Where do we begin?

First, Julie received a phone call from Mercedes, the founder of FANA. Mercedes said she had a most wonderful Christmas present for us. She could not have spoken a clearer truth.

Minutes after Julie got off the phone with Mercedes, Heather Felt called. (Heather and her husband Mike are our buddy couple.) Heather was calling to say that she would love to accept our invitation to come over for dinner, but just didn't think any time would work over the next month.

Let me backtrack for a moment... Two days ago we emailed Mike and Heather to invite them and their children over for supper in order to get better acquainted and help the waiting time pass.

Anyway, Heather said they'd love to come, but was afraid it wouldn't work out. She said she wanted to double check her calendar with ours if Julie could just come out to the front door. In that instant, Julie knew that Mike and Heather were coming to celebrate the great news. Julie flipped on the front light and opened the door to Mike, Heather, and their daughter, who was carrying two giant pick balloons that read, "It's a Girl!!" Mike had a bottle of champagne and Heather was carrying gifts.

They hugged Julie and said, "Ryan is home, right?" Julie replied, "No. He's off playing video games!" Mike told Julie she better call Ryan quick and tell him some lie, such as our toilet had exploded. Julie said she'd call, but used a slightly different angle to get him home. Feigning feeling sick, Julie convinced Ryan that he needed to come home right away. Ryan rushed home thinking there was some kind of emergency, only to find the best surprise awaiting him.

Julie said, "I know you're probably a little upset for me calling you away from your game night, but I don't think you'll stay upset for long." She led him into the baby room where Mike, Heather, and Carley where hiding. This is when they finally brought out Sophia's picture and paperwork from FANA. Hearing the words, "Congratulations Dad," instantly made Ryan go weak in the knees and get teary-eyed.

We all hugged, stared at Sophia's beautiful picture, hugged, stared at Sophia some more, and hugged again!

Our cup is overflowing right now. God's blessings and timing are amazing.

Sophia, te queremos mucho. Ya estas en nuestros corazones y pronto estaras en nuestros brazos.
We love you so much. You are already in our hearts and soon you will be in our arms.
