Today has been a busy and exciting day. This afternoon we met up with some other "waiting couples" for ice cream. We really enjoyed talking with the other couples who really understand where we are in the process. It was great to share our anxieties and excitement with them and to reassure each other that it really will happen.
Then, around 7:30 tonight, we headed to the airport to welcome baby Esme and her family home. Esme is a newly adopted baby from FANA in Colombia. While we were standing there admiring the beautiful little girl, Marcia (the director of Friends of FANA Minnesota) approached us. With a smile on her face, she said she had some very good news to share with us. As of August 24th, we are officially in! FANA has accepted our application for adoption!!!
What does this mean? Well, we're still a "waiting couple" unsure of when we'll get a referral, or when we'll be heading to Colombia, but sure that we will get a referral and that we will go to Colombia to meet our baby! In the meantime, we'll keep preparing for our baby and praying that our family will be united soon.
