William (Will) Thomas Sonnek was born on March 16th bright and early at 4:45am. He was a very healthy 7lbs 10oz and 21in long (although that length appears to be downgraded to 20in from our recent visit to the pediatrician). Julie and William are both doing excellent.

The days leading up to William's birth, Claire decided that it would be helpful to remind us how often newborns are up during the night. The night before we went to the hospital, she decided to wake us up every hour just to make sure that we were prepared and needless to say, we were exhausted before we went into the hospital at 10:30pm on the 15th. Claire also wanted to keep tabs on us while we were at the hospital and thought it would be helpful to stay up all night and have her poor babysitter text us throughout labor for tips for how to get her back to bed.
Julie and Ryan enjoyed a quiet and restful two day "vacation" in the hospital while focusing solely on Will. We returned home to two very excited big sisters and we are incredibly grateful to both of our Moms for helping us out while we get adjusted. Little Will had better get tough quick to adapt to life around our ever increasing crazy house!

Sophia continues to be the same wonderful big sister that she's been ever since Claire was born. She does an excellent job holding Will and asks to hold him every opportunity she gets.

Claire is adjusting very well to having a little brother and is currently quite infatuated with Will's features particularly his hair and his eyes. We are encouraging her to use gentle touches and to focus on the hair and avoid poking his eyes out. After all, he does have some incredibly awesome hair.

Will has enjoyed these cloudy spring days and found them perfect for sleeping the day away. Unfortunately, that also means that he's more awake in the middle of the night, so we are hoping to reverse this trend sooner rather than later. He's a healthy little guy and is already back to birth weight. We cannot wait to see how his personality grows!
