Sophia has one question for everyone in Minnesota, "Are you sure Minnesota has warm, sunny weather some of the time?" She would like to be able to sport her mommy's shades once and awhile.
We've decided an appropriate title for this entry is, "Raising Parents." People say parents raise their children, but Ryan and I have to admit that Sophia has been doing her fair share of the raising. Here's one example: for the past few days, we've been trying to encourage Sophia to align her sleeping schedule more closely with ours. We love our happy girl, but would be tickled if our happy girl surfaced at 7 am, rather than 5 am. Papi has a hard time aiming the bottle into Sophia's mouth at 5am when he's still half asleep. Mami is usually a bit more alert, but would still appreciate a little more snooze time.
Our plan was to keep Sophia up later so that she would sleep later. Let's just say that until today, we weren't having much success. Our little girl is quite vocal when we've pushed her just a bit too far. Today, without really thinking about it, we let Sophia take over and go back to dictating her own schedule. What do you think she did? On her own accord she took an earlier afternoon nap and then stayed awake until 7 pm! We hope this means she'll decide to sleep until 7 am (with the help of a couple of late night snacks of course).
Wish us luck! We miss you all and hope to be home soon.

LOVE THE PICTURE!! What a cutie pie! She will need to wear those sunglasses so she doesn't get blinded by the white snow!! Come home soon!! Love you all!
Good luck with the sleeping schedule ... if you figure it out be sure to let us know what your trick is ... our children definitely seem to be raising us :) Look forward to seeing you soon. Julie P.
